I'm Lauren and this is a blog dedicated to living life with a healthy balance. I love to run, strength train, bike and just be downright active. I'm a marathoner as of April 24, 2010 and am currently looking forward to qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

I absolutely love to eat and enjoy great food but doing it all in moderation. You'll see healthy, organic foods on here frequently but you'll also run into things such as pizza and sweets. I believe you can have it all... just not all at once.

I'm always learning and discovering new foods, recipes, workouts and ways to live a healthy lifestyle. Join me on my journey towards becoming my healthiest self.

I’m a 24 year old wife who has a passion for food and exercise.  I grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where bread was a staple piece at every meal and fried foods was its own essential food group.  I stayed a pretty picky eater up until the age of 23 when my husband kept pushing me to open little doors into the food world and now I absolutely love food and am always willing to try new flavors and recipes.

I fell in love with running in the fall of 2007 and have been running ever since.  I completed my first full marathon on April 24, 2010 in our fabulous city of Louisville, Kentucky.  I went from running two 5k’s in fall of 2007 to training for a marathon in 2010 and can’t wait to push myself to qualify for Boston one day!

You’ll find that I’m in a journey of discovering and living out life in the real world of fast food restaurants, sugars and carbs.  I believe that we can all live, eat, exercise and enjoy every bite of food along the way and not have to deprive ourselves.  I’m all about natural, clean foods but understand that sweets and pizza slip in there every once in a while. It’s all about balance and I’m just sharing a bit of my everyday life with you, hoping to keep myself accountable, as well as inspire others to be a healthier self.   Hop on board, share ideas, recipes, exercises, etc.  I can’t wait to get to know you all as friends.

  1. Hey Lauren

I found your blog a while back and I’m loving it! I studied Dietetics and Nutrition in college but didn’t do my internship to become an RD. I then became a personal trainer and Nutrition Therapist and just didn’t enjoy it as much as I had hoped but I still have a passion for food and exercise and enjoy reading about other people that do as well! Anyway, hope you have a good night! Keep writing!
