    I'm Lauren and this is a blog dedicated to living life with a healthy balance. I love to run, strength train, bike and just be downright active. I'm a marathoner as of April 24, 2010 and am currently looking forward to qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

    I absolutely love to eat and enjoy great food but doing it all in moderation. You'll see healthy, organic foods on here frequently but you'll also run into things such as pizza and sweets. I believe you can have it all... just not all at once.

A New Day

It felt so good to bike into work this morning and bring the rest of the cake with me!  That thing was heavy in my Chrome bike bag for sure, yo!  I was glad to have it out of the house!  It is so amazingly good but not great to be eating everyday for a week!

I decided that since today is a new day and I have been on a sugar splurge since Lent ended (I kid you not, I have not skipped a day of eating dessert since it ended over three weeks ago!) that I would start it off with some good Kashi Autumn Harvest cereal.

You just can’t go wrong with Kashi!  But you all know how much I love Kashi and cereal in general.

Guess what tonight is? It’s 31 cent/scoop night at Baskin Robbins!  And guess who won’t be participating this year?  That’s right!  Me!

We are going out to grab dessert at our wonderful Dairy Kastle tomorrow night after a potluck dinner and I’ve decided that will be my dessert for the week.  It’s time to increase the intake of veggies and fruits like major!  If I can go over 40 days without eating dessert than I can go 6 out of 7 days a week without eating it.  Ok, I might not be sticking that hardcore to the one dessert a week rule but I’m going to try… I promise.  You all need to help keep me accountable!!

Ok, enough about dessert… I’ve got to run!  I shall see you all at lunch!

  2. That is great you get to bike to work!!! I would love that. Instead I have a crazy drive w/ tons of traffic. No fun! And thanks for the BR heads up!

  3. There is no Baskin Robins in my city … in fact I don’t think I have ever had Baskin Robins in my life!!!
