    I'm Lauren and this is a blog dedicated to living life with a healthy balance. I love to run, strength train, bike and just be downright active. I'm a marathoner as of April 24, 2010 and am currently looking forward to qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

    I absolutely love to eat and enjoy great food but doing it all in moderation. You'll see healthy, organic foods on here frequently but you'll also run into things such as pizza and sweets. I believe you can have it all... just not all at once.

    I'm always learning and discovering new foods, recipes, workouts and ways to live a healthy lifestyle. Join me on my journey towards becoming my healthiest self.

Another Manic Monday

My day has been busy and full of drama and I’m so glad I’m home.  But anyway, we won’t get into all of that.

Breakfast was (of course) Raisin Bran cereal.

I was getting my food ready for work tomorrow and discovered I had like two bites of my Kashi H2H left so I have a little mixture of raisin bran cereal and the remainder of my H2H.  Hope it’s good together.  I can’t wait to stock up on everything at the grocery store next weekend!!

Lunch was a mixture.  Flank steak, a bit of mashed potatoes, green beans, and a baby organic spring mix salad.

Snack was my own rendition of trail mix.  Almonds, dark chocolate covered plums and craisins.  LOVE this mixture.

Thankfully a patient rolled in that made the remaining hour of work go by super fast and I’m glad it’s over!  I rushed home and was going to run but the hubs forgot I was going running and had already started cooking.  Oops.  So I happily obliged to eating the turkey burger and fries he cooked up. DELISH!!!  This is the first time I’ve ever had a turkey burger and I’m hooked.


I’ve decided to get in some strength training tonight since I couldn’t get my run in.  Push-ups, pull-ups and abs are beckoning me.  See you soon!!

Question of the Day: Do you eat ground turkey or do you like ground beef better?
