I'm Lauren and this is a blog dedicated to living life with a healthy balance. I love to run, strength train, bike and just be downright active. I'm a marathoner as of April 24, 2010 and am currently looking forward to qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

I absolutely love to eat and enjoy great food but doing it all in moderation. You'll see healthy, organic foods on here frequently but you'll also run into things such as pizza and sweets. I believe you can have it all... just not all at once.

I'm always learning and discovering new foods, recipes, workouts and ways to live a healthy lifestyle. Join me on my journey towards becoming my healthiest self.

No Snow Day for Me

We woke up to 3 inches of snow on the ground and it’s still falling. The hubs classes were cancelled and schools ate out. I guess us nurses can’t catch a break. đŸ˜‰ Pregnant people need us! Those babies won’t just stay in for convenience so we have to make sure we’re here and ready.

I am thankful for a husband who willingly gets out of bed and takes me into work when it snows.

I got to work and it wasn’t too busy but it ended up getting busy enough for me to make me eat a late breakfast but at least I got it in. The last packet of instant oatmeal in our house is now officially eaten.

Lunch consisted of the last piece of our pizza we made the other night and a big green healthy salad. Complete with organic spring mix, sliced black olives, feta cheese, grape tomatoes, craisins, carrots and homemade balsamic dressing.

Great green yummy lunch. Tonight we’re having friends over and we’re having different kinds of soups. Can’t wait! Perfect dinner for a snowy night.

See y’all tonight!!
