I'm Lauren and this is a blog dedicated to living life with a healthy balance. I love to run, strength train, bike and just be downright active. I'm a marathoner as of April 24, 2010 and am currently looking forward to qualifying for the Boston Marathon.

I absolutely love to eat and enjoy great food but doing it all in moderation. You'll see healthy, organic foods on here frequently but you'll also run into things such as pizza and sweets. I believe you can have it all... just not all at once.

I'm always learning and discovering new foods, recipes, workouts and ways to live a healthy lifestyle. Join me on my journey towards becoming my healthiest self.

Vegas Day One

K.C. and I finally arrived in Vegas at 1 am! Hello! That is 4 am Louisville time! We were beat. We crashed into bed after arriving at the hotel and having a little small talk around 2 am. Thank goodness for blackout curtains. We slept until 10 this morning. After a quick Starbuck’s run (I decided to wait until lunch to eat) we got ready to hit the strip for some lunch. We wound up at Margaritaville where K.C. and I split a grilled chicken sandwich on a whole wheat bun. I was starving so it probably tasted even better than normal considering I hadn’t eaten for 18 hours. I guzzled my water because the tuna from my dinner last night made me super thirsty.

The six of us after lunch. Left to right: Rachel, Haley, Amber, Heather, K.C., and me.

Following our lunch we headed outside to run into this guy that is filming a show for Animal Planet. He is to be locked in this glass box for 10 days with over a hundred deadly snakes. I say he’s just downright crazy but whatever. This show airs on February 9th on Animal Planet.

We are all currently shopping at the Forum Shops at Ceasar’s Palace. It’s what us girls do best. I am currently on a sole mission for some FroYo. We don’t really have any FroYo places around us in Louisville so I’m planning to take full advantage of it’s goodness while I’m out west. We have our night pretty much planned out for the most part. Sounds like it will be full of dinner, primping and dancing. Stay tuned for the rest of the Vegas adventures.
